Also, there IS a place where you can get together with all your best girlfriends (and trans and non-binary folk ... no hetero men allowed) to dance the EARLY night away and be home by 10pm (or maybe 20 minutes past if you have to drive a ways). Sadly, one of the two co-founders just passed away, but their mission lives on. They have been putting on events in a variety of cities. There were several here in Boston, but they sold out SO FAST. I was very disappointed because a) I wanted to attend, and b) I wanted to see what it was like and if I could replicate the idea outside of the city. Maybe call it "Earlybirds - Burbs Edition." I wonder if they are hiring ...
OH my dear Lord! (divine one intended) I just squealed in my new yellow chair! This is fabulous. How in the world did I not know about the Earlybirds?!? Of course, the DC one is sold out, but please please please tell me they do one in Boston. I'd come go with you. If you ever have a chance to buy tickets, just do it, and assume I'm in. Maybe we should contact them and ask for a 'burbs edition, although I have no idea where there's a club in my burb, but maybe they do. SO FUN!
And I knew you'd get it. And sincerely appreciate the validation that there's something to this, right? I'm doing some serious noodling on how to make this a thing...next Sirens call that I can come to might need to request some time to lob some ideas your way.
I'm on their mailing list and keeping an eye out. Sadly the two upcoming dates in Boston sold out in the blink of an eye (proving there is a HUGE demand for this kind of outlet!), but I'll continue to monitor.
